Saarland
Hurricanes

The Saarland Hurricanes are an American football club from Saarbrücken in Saarland. The club currently has eight active American football teams, ranging from the under 10s to the semi-professional GFL (German Football League) team, which recruits numerous players from the club’s own youth teams. Five cheerleading teams provide support from the sidelines, and appear in competitions on a national level.

The Saarland Hurricanes GFL team plays in the top German division (GFL1) and enjoyed its most successful season in 2021 with an appearance in the playoffs and the runner-up spot in GFL Süd. The Saarbrücken team’s aim is to reach the playoffs, and one day achieve its dream of winning the German Bowl.
