The Paris Olympics are only just over, and now we have the next sporting highlight just around the corner: the HYLO® Open 2024. From 29 October to 3 November, this popular badminton tournament in Saarbrücken’s Saarlandhalle once again promises some magnificent moments and exciting matches. ‘The atmosphere last year was insane, and this year it will be even crazier. We are looking forward to a mega badminton fest!’, tournament director Frank Liedke explains.
SAARBRÜCKEN GRIPPED BY BADMINTON FEVER ONCE AGAIN
The Saarland state capital has established itself as the ideal venue for this major event. Following the success of previous years and the European Championships in the spring of 2024, everyone is looking forward to the next HYLO® Open. The tournament offers fans a unique opportunity to experience top-class sport from up close. The excitement in the hall and the breathtaking rallies ensure an incomparable atmosphere that is guaranteed to get under your skin. Player Marvin Seidel confirms this sentiment:

I cannot wait to be back in competition once again. Whatever happens, I want to be at the HYLO® Open and am looking forward to the fantastic atmosphere in the Saarlandhalle. It was an absolute highlight last year.
There is a lot at stake on the court: as well as vital world ranking points, the winners will take home generous winnings of 210,000 US dollars. For our German hopefuls, there is one other potential reward – a home win, for the first time since 2013.
THE TOURNAMENT OF SUPERLATIVES
As in previous years, this year’s tournament will once again see a strong field of competitors. It will be particularly exciting to see whether the defending champions can repeat their success: in 2023, Chou Tien Chen of Taiwan secured his fourth title at this traditional tournament in particularly magnificent style. Whether or not he can continue his impressive streak remains to be seen.

After the Paris Olympics, various new pairings are now being put to the test and new play configurations being tried out. The 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles are already on the radar. This means that we will get to see a few newcomers showing off their skills on an international stage for the first time.
