2025 Gymnastics Festival in Leipzig – a celebration of exercise, diversity and community

The 2025 International German Gymnastics Festival from 28 May to 1 June once again transformed Leipzig into a vibrant platform for global gymnastics and mass sport. With more than 80,000 active participants, hundreds of thousands of visitors and more than 350 events, for five days this Saxony metropolis became a hub of sporting diversity – together with an exceptional atmosphere brimming with enthusiasm, solidarity and zest for life.
Artistic Gymnastics European Championships as highlight
One particular highlight was the Artistic Gymnastics European Championships going on at the same time, with 135 female and 166 male gymnasts from 37 countries showcasing their skills in top competitions. The competitors impressed with their technical precision, expressiveness and sporting fairness – and ensured an intoxicating atmosphere and some emotional moments at the competition venues. Another key area of focus was the widespread public participation programme, spread across the entire city. Whether fitness tests, yoga sessions, guided hikes or canoe tours on Leipzig’s waterways, the Gymnastics Festival provided people of all ages with an opportunity to rediscover sport and enjoy an active lifestyle. Stadium gala provides glittering finale
The crowning glory of the event was the celebratory stadium gala, offering an impressive mix of shows, sport, music and emotions to mark the end of the Gymnastics Festival in style. The energetic performance to a large audience reflected the event’s overall motto: community through exercise.
