BIKE AID ready for Deutschland Tour – a home event on an international stage

When the Lidl Deutschland Tour 2025 begins in Essen in Wednesday, it marks one of the most important weeks of the year for Team BIKE AID. Five stages, 741 kilometres, three states – and amid it all, the Continental team from Saarland, who have been more consistent than ever during the 2025 season.
From 20 to 24 August 2025, Germany’s biggest cycling race cuts through the middle of the country – from the Ruhr metropolis of Essen through the heart of Saxony-Anhalt to Magdeburg.
Back with the wind in their sails
The Deutschland Tour 2024 remains fresh in the memory: the Kalmit peak in the Palatinate Forest became an emotional climax, the finish line in Saarbrücken a local celebration. BIKE AID were not only competing, but also shaped the race with their sporting presence and regional links. What began as just a vision became a genuine reality last year – a German professional team that could hold its own and be celebrated on home turf.
2025: a year of sporting strengths
The current season is showing the consistency of BIKE AID‘s development. With Anton Schiffer on the podium at the German National Road Race Championships, the team managed another coup: a Continental team rider keeping pace with the World Tour elite. On an international level, ProCyclingStats puts BIKE AID as one of the three strongest Continental teams in the world – a status confirmed by their total of 60 UCI wins.
Deutschland Tour to showcase performance and mindset
The Deutschland Tour is an opportunity for BIKE AID to test their sporting mettle, but also to showcase their mindset. The team’s #rideforafrica campaign highlights their commitment to African athletes. They are also seeking to establish links with grass-roots sport – a community has been created via the BIKE AID e.V. club where cycling provides social interaction and togetherness.
From global elite to regional rooting
The team’s daily presence on the TV – from ARD and ZDF to Eurosport and Discovery+ – makes them very visible. The Turkey, Hellas, Sibiu and Occitania races have demonstrated that BIKE AID are also able to make their mark on an international stage. The Deutschland Tour will now serve as a showcase on home turf.
This means that as well as providing a sporting highlight, the Tour is also an opportunity for exchange – with fans, supporters and the cycling community. Anyone interested in seeing the team live will have lots of opportunities along the route.
