Carrie Schreiner competing in Magny-Cours – next opportunity for vital Sprint Cup points
After a two-week break, the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS will be stopping off in Magny-Cours this weekend (31 July to 2 August 2026). This longstanding French track will be playing host to three of this season’s five Sprint Cup events. With a record field of 45 GT3 vehicles, the weekend of racing promises to offer some top-quality motorsport.
Carrie Schreiner will be racing alongside Sebastian Ogaard for Tresor Attempto Racing once again in an Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II with the starting number 88. The duo are battling for more vital championship points in the bronze cup rankings.
Record field offers strong competition
There have never been this many vehicles on the starting grid for a GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup race: the official entry list has a total of 45 GT3 racing cars. This highlights the increasing importance of the sprint series for international GT sport.
For Schreiner and Ogaard, this means huge amounts of competition. Even the qualifying came down to tenths of a second between multiple grid positions.
Magny-Cours requires precision
The Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours is one of the most technically challenging courses on the calendar. The combination of quick changes of direction, hard braking points and slow curves poses issues for both drivers and vehicles. Mistakes on this 4.411-kilometre course rarely go unpunished.
The aim: more Bronze Cup points
After the Sprint opener in Misano, Tresor Attempto Racing will be seeking to take the next step in France. The Bronze class field is particularly tight, meaning that every single point really matters.
Carrie Schreiner and Sebastian Ogaard want to demonstrate their skill in the battle for top positions in the two one-hour races and further increase their points tally. A faultless qualifying, clean pit stops and consistent race pace will all be crucial.
A record starting grid and numerous factory drivers mean that Magny-Cours will again be one of the most challenging sprint weekends of the season.
