Carrie Schreiner seeking podium at GTWC home event on Nürburgring

This weekend brings one of the highlights of the 2026 season for Carrie Schreiner.

After a four-week summer break, the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS is stopping off at the Nürburgring from 28 to 30 August 2026. For the Audi driver, this race in the Eifel mountains is a very special home event – and she hopes to take the next step towards her biggest goal for the season on one of her most familiar tracks.

The 27-year-old will be racing for Tresor Attempto Racing in the three-hour Endurance Cup race alongside Daniele Di Amato and Gerhard Tweraser, in an Audi R8 LMS GT3 with the starting number 88 in the Bronze Cup. Experienced Austrian driver Tweraser is reinforcing the duo of Schreiner/Di Amato.

The Nürburgring is not new territory for Schreiner. ‘I am definitely looking forward to my home race, and there are few tracks where I have done more laps than the Nürburgring.’

The German driver’s latest appearance in Magny-Cours (France) gives her cause for optimism. Schreiner showed positive development over the course of the Sprint Cup weekend and she will be seeking to continue this in the Endurance Cup at the Nürburgring.

Her stated aim for her home race is correspondingly ambitious. Experience from the season thus far suggests she could make the jump to the podium. Schreiner knows that this will not be an easy task in the strong GT World Challenge Europe lineup.

‘That is my main aim for the season; I haven’t managed it yet as this is a very hard series, but I will keep working to make it happen this year’, the 27-year-old explained.

They have gained a further boost of experience thanks to Gerhard Tweraser. The 36-year-old previously raced in Monza alongside Schreiner and Di Amato. Tweraser has a wealth of experience from the ADAC GT Masters and the GT World Challenge Europe and has already chalked up two class wins in the Endurance Cup.

The qualifying will take place on Sunday from 9:45 a.m. The three-hour GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup race will then begin at 3 p.m. The event will be broadcast on SRO’s official live stream from the pre-qualifying on Saturday onwards, including German and English commentary. We are looking forward to an exciting, eventful weekend of racing with Carrie Schreiner and her team and wish her much luck and success at the ‘Green Hell’, on her doorstep.
