Elversberg seeking to continue home streak against Ulm

For the sixth day of play, SV Elversberg are facing the promoted team from Ulm in a home game. To an extent, they are playing their counterparts: the Ulm team have also marched through from the Regionalliga to the 2. Liga at top speed. 

However, things are not going so well for SSV Ulm this season: the only point they have gained was away from home – with a 0:0 against the then table leaders from Paderborn. Even so, Thomas Wörle is optimistic about the upcoming away game against Elversberg. In addition, SSV have only conceded a single away goal – although this was during their crucial 0:1 defeat in Regensburg. ‘We need to play more economically’, the coach said when asked about how he planned to avoid collapsing and conceding goals – all of which have been in the final quarter of the match. Nevertheless, everyone on the Ulm squad is full of anticipation for this match in the URSAPHARM arena. 

SVE are also heading into this match with a certain amount of anticipation, combined with stability. They have a win, three draws and a defeat to their name after five days of play, but they remain undefeated at home in the URSAPHARM arena. Last weekend against Spvgg Greuther Fürth, SVE put in a good, bold performance that went unrewarded, but were still able to take a point home from the away game to gild this upcoming home game against the foundering promoted team.

Liga’, Stefan Kuntz said in the highest praise of SV Elversberg. SV Elversberg have now masterfully proven time and again that they belong in the second division. Next, they will be seeking to further improve their home record against SSV Ulm.
