Home game highlight in final spurt of season

Saarlouis Hornets welcome Mannheim Tornados – playoff atmosphere guaranteed
Two wins, lots of self-confidence and one clear goal: the Saarlouis Hornets are heading into their final home game of the regular season with the wind in their sails. On Saturday (26 July), the Mannheim Tornados are arriving not just as the current second-placed team in the 2. Bundesliga Süd-West, but also a direct competitor in the race for the playoffs at the Ballpark in den Fliesen in Saarlouis.
The first pitch is at 12 pm – as always, the day will be in double-header mode, with the second match following immediately afterwards.
Thanks to an impressive record, Saarlouis are in third place – with only one win needed from their remaining four games to secure a place in the playoffs. But the team want more: if they secure a double win against Mannheim and Mannheim then lose again, the Hornets could even jump up to second place. Mathematically, first place is even possible – if top team Mainz fail to secure the points expected. However, realistically all eyes are on Saturday. Everything remains open, but one thing is clear: every win counts, even more than usual.
The ball park will once again be in a celebratory mood: tactically focused and fighting fit with a squad that impresses both with the bat and on the mound, the Hornets have been playing on top form in recent weeks. The team’s combination of disciplined hitting, aggressive base running and consistent pitching rotation make them currently one of the most dangerous on the field.
Anyone at the game on Saturday will enjoy plenty of top-level sport – but there is also lots going on off the pitch: All day long, the Hornets‘s powerful guitar sound will be creating a stadium atmosphere that is impressive to see – or rather, to hear. There will also be a small surprise for the first 50 fans in the ballpark. It is worth turning up early.
The situation could hardly be more exciting: a safe spot in the playoffs is within reach, as is a potential home advantage in the quarter-final – and who knows: the team could even move up a place or two.
Match day: Saturday 26 July
Match begins: 12 p.m. (double-header)

The last home game of the regular season – the stage is set for a Saturday of fantastic baseball.
We are looking forward to full stands, intense duels and a day of play that delivers on its promise – as well as crossing our fingers firmly for two strong performances by the Hornets in their battle for the playoffs.
