HYLO® SPORT and Füchse Berlin begin new season with strong statement

A symbolic start

When Füchse Berlin ran out on Saturday (23 August 2025) to face THW Kiel at a sold-out SAP Garden in Munich, this represented more than just the start of a season – it also showcased a partnership built on continuity and shared growth. HYLO® SPORT is now an official Gold Partner of Füchse Berlin. This was immediately visible on the court: the word HYLO® now features on the back of their jerseys – highlighting the deepened relationship between pharmaceutical family company URSAPHARM and the capital club.

Common values, common path

URSAPHARM and Füchse Berlin have been working together for five years. The new three-year contract is now strategically building on this work. Both partners are united in their commitment to continuous development – whether in sporting competition or in pharmaceutical research. Füchse are committed to promoting young talent and long-term club development, URSAPHARM to innovative products and environmentally friendly production methods. This partnership is therefore more than just sponsorship: it represents a shared attitude.

Füchse CEO Bob Hanning sums it up:

We are incredibly happy to be able to display a global group on our jersey and count them as part of our network. Their sporting philosophy and values are a perfect fit for Füchse Berlin. URSAPHARM have been our partner for many years, and I am delighted that we are now expanding this partnership further. I am sure that this partnership will produce numerous synergies.

Boris Röder, Head of Communications at URSAPHARM, also views this alliance as a logical step:

the way that Füchse tackle competitions and their efforts to develop quality at home – i.e. promote their own talent and work with them to pave the way to success – are 100% part of our DNA. It was therefore an obvious step to expand this partnership and define and achieve common goals.

Supercup: excitement through to the final throw

Füchse Berlin and THW Kiel provided a top-quality duel in front of 10,500 spectators at a sold-out SAP Garden in Munich. The Berlin team began this encounter between the reigning champions and the cup winners at a furious pace and headed into half-time with a 19:14 lead, but lost their rhythm at the start of the second half. Kiel took advantage of this period of weakness and turned the game around – but Füchse fought back.

An equal 31:31 score at the end of regular playing time prompted a deciding penalty shootout. Lasse Ludwig became the match winner, saving Elias Ellefsen á Skipagøtu’s final throw and securing a 34:33 win for Füchse.

Coach Jaron Siewert appeared relieved:

We are extremely happy to be starting the season with a title. Nevertheless, it was a very tight game. We ultimately won the penalty shootout, but it could easily have gone differently.

We are looking forward to working closely with Füchse.
