HYLO® Team Saar heading to Bundesliga finale in Hanover

Against the backdrop of Maschsee lake: Saarland seeking third day win

Saturday brings the 1. Triathlon-Bundesliga decider in Hanover. HYLO® Team Saar are heading to Maschsee lake with the wind in their sails – after two day wins in a row, they are on solid form with clear ambitions. But as a glance at the table shows, the championship title is by no means guaranteed.

Three-way battle for the title

Before the final race, Metallart-Team Süßen are leading with 74 points, closely followed by Team Berlin (73) and HYLO® Team Saar (70). This situation is tight but not hopeless. Another win could put Saarland back in play – provided that Süßen and Berlin do not manage a podium finish once again.

Team leader Marc Trautmann put things succinctly:

We are very well positioned for Hanover and optimistic about gaining our third day win in a row. However, the overall title is not entirely within our control. It all depends on where other teams finish, so we will have to wait and see how the race unfolds.

Sprint format with international lineup

The race will be over the sprint distance: 750-metre swim, 20-kilometre cycle and 5-kilometre run. HYLO® Team Saar’s lineup will be Emil Holm (Denmark), Justus Nieschlag, Jaspar Ortfeld, Antoine L’Hôte (Switzerland) and Niklas Keller (Austria). This combination of experienced Bundesliga athletes and international bolstering should provide stability and pace.

Boost from Allgäu

The team impressed with cohesive performances at the previous race in Bühl am Alpsee, securing the day win. Lasse Nygaard Priester, who came second in the individual rankings, particularly showed that the team is able to remain competitive even on challenging courses. He will not be in the Hanover lineup – instead, local hero Justus Nieschlag will be in the spotlight.

Urban finale with a spectator focus

The competition area on the north bank of Maschsee lake brings the race closer to the city centre. Spectators can look forward to a compact format with short routes and direct views of transition areas. The men begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the women 90 minutes later.

Last outing with all still to play for

HYLO® Team Saar are ready for the Bundesliga finale. With a strong lineup and clear goals, they will be striving for their third day win in a row – and perhaps even more. What that means for the overall rankings will be decided during Saturday’s race.

We are crossing our fingers for the team, and wish them much luck and success for the season finale in Hanover.
