HYLO® Team Saar with strong lineup in Allgäu

From title dreams to tactics: key race for Saarland in Bühl am Alpsee
Friday (15 August 2025) brings the fourth of five Bundesliga races this season for HYLO® Team Saar – for the first time, taking place in Immenstadt as part of the Allgäu Triathlon. The sprint distance (750m swim, 19.4km cycle, 5km run) requires not only pace, but also adaptability: the challenging profile of the route around Alpsee lake could shake up the overall rankings.
Lagging behind, but with prospects
After a dampener in Tübingen and a strong comeback in Dresden, the team are seven points behind table leaders Berlin and five behind Süßen. The starting situation is clear: Saarland need to win – and hope that other teams fill the spots between them and their direct competitors. Berlin are not bringing their top lineup to Allgäu, which provides scope for some tactical shifts in the rankings.
Our aim is to win all of the remaining races – and then we are reliant on the other teams not always finishing in second and third
team leader Marc Trautmann said.
Strong lineup for the men’s team
HYLO® Team Saar is starting with a full Bundesliga quintet in the shape of Lasse Nygaard Priester, Jannik Schaufler, Antoine L’Hôte, Gregor Payet and Chris Ziehmer. Priester and Schaufler are experienced team members, and Ziehmer showed solid form in Dresden recently with 15th place. L’Hôte of Switzerland and Payet of Luxembourg complete the lineup, standing ready to help improve the team’s ranking.
Boost from Dresden
The day win in Dresden was more than just a respectable achievement in itself. A united team performance and individual placings in the top 15 showed that HYLO® Team Saar are tactically and physically ready to deliver under pressure. Jaspar Ortfeldt (not in the Allgäu lineup) particularly demonstrated the depth of the squad with the fastest running time of the day.
Viernheim covering women’s race
In the women’s race, the HYLO® Team Viernheim/Saar joint team will not be featuring any Saarland athletes. Nevertheless, the team remains in second place in the Bundesliga rankings, and a strong race could keep them within shouting distance of table leaders Witten.
Watch live
The race will be broadcast live from 4:25 p.m. – online at BR24Sport, ARD Mediathek and on public television via HbbTV. The men’s race begins at 6 p.m. and the women will be preparing to enter the water at 4:30 p.m.
Last chance with all options open
HYLO® Team Saar are ready – Bühl am Alpsee is the next stop in their mission to defend their title. With a clear goal in mind and a route that allows for some surprises, the race in Allgäu could represent a turning point in the season and pave the way for an exciting finale in Hanover.
