Jürgen Doberstein crowned world champion at URSAPHARM Fight Night III
Congratulations Jürgen Doberstein! On Saturday evening (28 September 2024), the Saarland-based professional boxer won the Global Boxing Council (GBC) world championship title at URSAPHARM Fight Night III in the Joachim-Deckarm-Halle in Saarbrücken. In a thrilling duel against Twaha Kassim of Tanzania, the ‘Dobermann’ won unanimously on points (120-107, 120-107, 119-108) to secure the world championship title.
The 34-year-old Saarland native, who has been training solo since 2020, put in an impressive performance and dominated his opponent right from the outset.
‘I have spent 25 years working towards this boxing fight. My dream has come true’, an overjoyed Doberstein said after the fight.

The spectators in the hall enthusiastically hailed the new world champion, with various other local and boxing celebrities – such as Saarland’s Minister of the Interior Reinhold Jost and boxing legend and ringside commentator Axel Schulz – congratulating Doberstein on his triumph.
