Jürgen Doberstein wins world title defence – the Dobermann defeats ‘The African Beast’

This evening Koblenz played host to the eagerly awaited world championship boxing fight, which saw Saarland boxer and current Global Boxing Council (GBC) world super middleweight champion Jürgen Doberstein successfully defend his title. As expected, this exciting fight was very spectacular and spectators enjoyed a world-class boxing show.
Doberstein’s opponent was 27-year-old boxer Hamisi Ayoub Maya of Tanzania, also known as ‘The African Beast’, measuring an impressive 1.80 metres tall and with a reach of 2.01 metres. Maya has already made a name for himself in Germany. In 2019, he won the world welterweight championship title against German-Italian boxer Piergiulio Ruhe in the fourth round with a technical KO.
After eight preliminary fights, the main fight began on schedule with palpable excitement in the air. The fighters stepped into the ring in front of an audience brimming with expectation.
The fight began with huge excitement, and right from the outset both boxers proved that they were willing to give their all. Doberstein, known for his technical finesse, exceptional condition and mindset, immediately demonstrated that he planned to retain control of the bout. Maya, young and energetic, sought to ramp up the pressure with quick combinations and aggressive attacks.
Doberstein put up a strong defence in the first round, blocking a lot of attacks and countering skilfully. Maya kept on coming back with energetic attacks, but Doberstein was able to deflect most blows and score points with some clean hits. The spectators were delighted to see both fighters’ tactical finesse.
As the fight went on, Doberstein upped the number of blows, fired punches on target and controlled the pace. Maya did not give up, but Doberstein showed impressive stamina and precision. The rounds were short, but Doberstein was able to chalk up points with his clean hits and secure defence.
After 12 rounds, the judges unanimously awarded the win to the ‘Dobermann’. Jürgen Doberstein definitively won the fight on points: 119-110 / 119-111 / 118-110. The spectators applauded enthusiastically and Doberstein was celebrated for his impressive performance.
