KÜS Team Bernhard presents new DTM designs

At first glance, the new designs of the two racing cars that Timo Bernhard’s team will be bringing to the start line for the 2023 DTM season are very different: one of the two Porsche 911 GT3 Rs features the familiar red and blue colours whilst the second is black and white.
However, if you look closer and understand the history behind them, the links between the two are clear.

In the winning design from the previous year and with the same starting number 24, the 911 driven by 25-year-old Ayhancan Güven in red and blue picks up the colours and design used by last season’s historic successful car and the team itself. It harks back to Porsche’s first DTM win. This very special 911, which made motorsport history with last year’s win at the Norisring and was proper contender for the DTM 2022 title right up to the final weekend, has now become an exhibit at Stuttgart’s Porsche Museum.

21-year-old Kürnach local Laurin Heinrich is driving its sister car with the significant starting number of 75. In the team’s tenth year of using the signature 75, it pays homage to this year’s anniversary ‘75 years of Porsche sports cars’ and also makes reference to Team75 Motorsport’s roots: Rüdiger Bernhard – the father of team manager Timo Bernhard – began his first motorsport activities in 1975. Black and white reflect the design of Team75’s original circuit racing car. With this anniversary design, Timo Bernhard is emphasising the decades-long, extremely close partnership between his team and the premium brand from Stuttgart Zuffenhausen.

Two seemingly very different looks are therefore bound together by the historic reference to the long, successful partnership between Timo Bernhard, his family and Porsche.

Both young drivers are filled with pride to be wearing the team’s colours for the upcoming DTM season and fully motivated to continue creating meaningful history and moments for the numbers 24 and 75 with further successes.

For team manager Timo Bernhard, unveiling and announcing the new designs for the season is always a wonderful, special occasion. As well as continuing the current, well-known, victorious winning design in the team’s colours, for Timo, the #75 in the sports car manufacturer’s anniversary years and the colours of Team75’s original design from ten years ago represent a fascinating combination showcasing a successful long-term partnership. Borrowing from the slogan ‘driven by dreams’, used to celebrate the motorsport specialist’s anniversary, Timo is thus emphasising the links between him, his family and the Porsche brand, which has always helped him make his own dreams a reality.

We, the team and the team’s owner can hardly wait to see the two new-look 911s out on the track.

The 2023 DTM season begins on 26/05/2023 in Oschersleben.
