Playoffs begin for the Hornets – home game against Regensburg

On Saturday (6 September 2025), the Saarlouis Hornets begin the key part of the season: the first match in the playoff series is just around the corner. At 2 p.m., Saarland will be welcoming Bayerische Baseball Akademie of Regensburg to their home venue Ballpark in den Fliesen. Play will be best of three – kicking off with a full nine-inning match.

Starting with a home advantage – concentration needed

After a strong main season, the Hornets have once again qualified for the playoffs. The process is clear: the first team to win two games advances to the next round. Unusually, this will not be a double-header with a shorter match time, but rather full, physically demanding matches calling for in-depth tactics. The first duel will be in Saarlouis, followed by the second in Regensburg a week later. If the score then stands at 1:1, a third match will serve as the decider.
