Trial run for Paris – Boris Nicolai heading to the World Boccia Cup in Taipei

Saarland’s boccia athlete Boris Nicolai will be competing in the upcoming New Taipei City 2024 World Boccia Cup with the German team. This prestigious event in Taipei runs from 23 July to 1 August and promises exciting, elite competition.
Preparations and team changes
Boris Nicolai has been training intensively in recent weeks to ensure that he is perfectly prepared for his upcoming challenges. The St. Ingbert native has completed various training camps in the last few weeks together with his pairs partner, Anita Raguwaran. Unfortunately, Anita’s professional obligations mean that she is not able to compete in the Taipei competition. Nicole Michael will instead be lining up alongside Boris for the pairs competition. Boris will be competing in the individual event under the BC4 class.
En route to the Paralympics
Boris Nicolai has already qualified for the upcoming Paralympics and will be using the World Boccia Cup in Taipei as vital preparation. Competing in this event gives him an opportunity to pit himself against the best athletes in the world and gain valuable experience.
A strong team
Despite the last-minute change to the team, Boris is confident:
We have trained and we are ready for the challenge.
Nicole Michael, who is standing in for Anita, also has huge amounts of experience and motivation.
Off to Taipei
Boris and the national team are heading to Taipei on Monday (22 July). We wish them every success and are crossing our fingers for a successful World Boccia Cup and great trial run before the Paralympics in Paris!
