URSAPHARM Fight Night III – a top-class boxing spectacle
Jürgen Doberstein fights for the super middleweight world championship title
On Saturday (28 September 2024), the die Joachim-Deckarm-Halle in Saarbrücken will become an arena of superlatives. URSAPHARM Fight Night III promises an unforgettable experience for all boxing fans. The focal point of the evening will be Saarland’s professional boxer Jürgen ‘Dobermann’ Doberstein, who will be competing for the Global Boxing Council (GBC) super middleweight world championship title.
An evening packed with highlights
The evening’s various preliminary fights begin at 6 p.m., surrounded by a varied programme of entertainment. Including the main world championship fight between Jürgen Doberstein and Twaha Kassim at 10 p.m., the boxing gala will feature a total of eleven boxing bouts. The evening will have some prominent commentators: boxing legend Axel Schulz and well-known sports journalist Tobias Drews will guide spectators through the evening’s events. The surrounding programme offers musical entertainment from singing duo Jeanridge & Leah, plus the Saarland Hurriflames cheerleaders to captivate the audience with their show acts. The national anthem will be sung by Anna Lillig, and Place2b will look after visitors’ catering needs.
The main fight: Jürgen Doberstein
Jürgen Doberstein, born in Kazakhstan in 1989 and resident in Saarland since 1998, has had an impressive career. He began boxing at the age of nine and won countless youth and junior championships. He became a professional boxer at the age of 18 and won several international titles, including the IBF Junior World Champion belt (2012), the WBA Intercontinental title and the IBF Mediterranean title. Jürgen Doberstein’s incomparable style and tactical finesse make him a unique opponent in the ring. On 28 September he will be seeking to make his dream a reality and secure the world championship title.
Doberstein, motivated to his core and brimming with confidence and self-assurance, is eagerly awaiting the fight: ‘I have been working towards this moment for 25 years. Now I want to be world champion.’
The evening’s other fights
As well as the main fight, there will also be various top-class preliminary fights. Senad Gashi and heavyweight Yakup Saglam – the ‘Westerwald Rocky ‘ – will set the mood for around 2,000 boxing fans in the hall. The preliminary fights will also feature welterweights Salah Jahel and Victoria Stirnemann, the daughter of former world-class speed skater Gunda Niemann-Stirnemann.
An evening to remember
URSAPHARM Fight Night III is a sporting highlight and a hugely important social event for the region. Overseen by Saarland’s Minister of the Interior, Construction and Sport Reinhold Jost, this evening will be an unforgettable experience for all involved.
