Warm-up in Paris

The biggest sporting event of the year is just around the corner and athletes from all over the world are gradually arriving. The gymnastics team has also already moved into the German house. Their arrival was shortly followed by their first training session to prepare for the upcoming competitions.

Saturday 27 July – a day after the Olympics official opening ceremony – sees the start of the qualification rounds, where the teams will have to give their all to reach the finals.

The men’s gymnastics team consists of Pascal Brendel, Lukas Dauser, Nils Dunkel, Timo Eder and Andreas Toba. The women are represented by Helen Kevric, Pauline Schäfer-Betz and Sarah Voss.

The gymnastics competitions run from 27 July to 5 August 2024. The men’s team final is on 29 July and the women’s on 30 July. Things then continue on 31 July with the men’s all-around final, followed by the women on 1 August. The apparatus finals are from 3 to 5 August.

Another great tip for all gymnastics fans:

The ARD media library has a fantastic documentary called ‘60 Seconds of Perfection’. This multi-episode documentary series follows the athletes of the German gymnastic team in pursuit of the perfect routine – their 60 seconds of perfection.

Qualifying for the Summer Olympics in Paris was no easy task for Saarland native Pauline Schäfer-Betz. She faced several injuries along the way. This documentary shows here astonishing journey over the past year.

We would like to wish the entire gymnastics team much luck and many exciting moments at the Olympics in Paris.
