What’s new from the HYLO® Sport family

Our #hyloathletes have been successfully competing on a national and international level once again this week with passion, precision and team spirit. We take a look back at the last seven days’ events and competitions featuring our athletes, teams and clubs.

Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships: DTB athletes put in strong performance

From 5 to 9 November, the German gymnastics team were competing at the Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships in Pamplona. The DTB’s athletes put in strong performances and achieved good finishes in Spain.

Duo Aileen Rösler and Fabian Vogel celebrated a successful debut in the first ever mixed synchronised event at the World Championships, reaching the semi-final. Matthias Schuldt and Fabian Vogel also impressed in the men’s singles with strong preliminary performances that put them in the top 24. Caio Lauxtermann narrowly missed out on qualifying for the semi-finals. In the women’s event, Aileen Rösler and Gabriela Stöhr were knocked out in the qualifiers – both performed solid routines but were unable to reach the top 24.

In the men’s synchronised competition, Schuldt and Lauxtermann secured the top German result: a focused preliminary round saw them qualify for the finals, where they finished in eighth place. The DTB trio finished in seventh place in the team rankings – a respectable result on an international level.

We demonstrated at the World Championships that we can compete on numerous levels

was national coach Katarina Prokesova’s summary. She praised the athletes’ courage and development and emphasised the positive prospects for upcoming events.

Artistic gymnastics: German gymnastics team compete at Memorial Arturo Gander

On 5 November, Morges in Switzerland played host to the longstanding Memorial Arturo Gander – an international invitational tournament in reduced all-around format. Silja Stöhr (SG Heddesheim) and Nils Dunkel (SV Halle) competed for the German gymnastics team, both finishing in eighth place.

Nils Dunkel managed a strong routine on the pommel horse, coming second with 13.800 points. He did not achieve a perfect performance on either the parallel bars or the vault, but still achieved fourth and ninth respectively. He finished his fourth apparatus in sixth place with a solid 13.000 points. Silja Stöhr chalked up fifth place on the uneven bars and sixth place on the vault. However, a fall on the balance beam prevented her from finishing any higher.

The Memorial Arturo Gander is a prestigious individual competition with an international lineup, where gymnasts may only compete if invited. For the German pair, this served as a valuable stocktake in an international environment.

Darts: Arno Merk wins HYLO® PDC Europe Super League and heads to world championships

The HYLO® PDC Europe Super League was held at Halle 39 in Hildesheim from 4 to 7 November. 24 players who had qualified via the HYLO® PDC Europe Next Gen battled it out for a sought-after ticket to the PDC World Darts Championship in London’s Ally Pally.

Arno Merk ultimately prevailed – with a 8:6 final victory over Daniel Klose. The old hand impressed throughout the tournament with hugely consistent doubles and a strong checkout rate. He particularly demonstrated his class with his 164 finish in the quarter-final against Yorick Hofkens and his cool-nerved performance in the final. This represents Merk’s first appearance in a PDC World Championship event since the 2011 BDO World Championship.

Daniel Klose also had a strong week, beating opponents that included Liam Maendl-Lawrance in the semi-final. Jarod Becker, who had an emotional battle through to the semi-final, youngster Mika Donnevert and Dragutin Horvat provided other tournament highlights.

The Super League thus remains a key springboard for German darts players – and a strong indication of the young talent development work being conducted in the HYLO® Sport network. Arno Merk is now the eighth German player to qualify for the 2026 PDC World Championship – the highest number ever. Gabriel Clemens will also be appearing in London’s Ally Pally from 11 December to 3 January to compete for the top titles in the darts world.

SV Elversberg narrowly lose to FC Schalke 04

On Saturday lunchtime (8 November 2025), SV Elversberg faced FC Schalke 04  in the VELTINS Arena – a symbolic duel that played out in front of 61,000 spectators. Vincent Wagner’s team displayed solid tactics and bold play, but were ultimately defeated 1:0.

An early goal by Hasan Kurucay following a long throw-in put the home team in the lead. Elversberg then took control of play with 66 percent ball possession, but failed to convert this into a goal. Two presumed goals by Ebnoutalib and Stange were disallowed, as offside and a foul respectively. The team were also lacking a glimmer of luck in the final stages – Malanga narrowly missed out on equalising and a potential foul on Stange went unpunished.

Before the match, it was clear to us that 65 percent ball possession would not be enough

Vincent Wagner said after the match. ‘We probably needed 70 percent, even if that sounds ambitious.’ Despite the defeat, Elversberg put in a solid team performance and remain in third place in the table.

A detailed report can be found at HYLO® News.

Things continue for SVE after the international break on Sunday 23 November, with an away game against Karlsruher SC.

TG Saar celebrate home win against SC Cottbus to stay in running for the finals

On Saturday evening (8 November 2025), TG Saar played host to SC Cottbus in the Kreissporthalle Dillingen – and put in a solid team performance that secured them a vital 44:32 victory in the Deutsche Turnliga (DTL). Saarland were on strong form in front of a home audience and laid the foundations on key apparatus for their subsequent well-earned win.

After a tight start on the floor (6:4), TG Saar initially dropped behind with 4:8 on the pommel horse. However, the rings turned things around: the team sent a clear message with a dominant 13:2. The home team also retained the upper hand on the vault (4:2) and parallel bars (10:8). The final apparatus – the horizontal bar – narrowly went to Cottbus 7:8, but had no impact on the final outcome

The top scorer of the evening was Gabriel Eichhorn with 16 points. New addition Ilia Liubimov also impressed with strong routines and played a major role in the home win. For TG Saar, this was a vital step towards the DTL finals. The team now have the wind in their sails as they head into their fixture against KTV Straubenhardt on Saturday, before 22 November brings their last home duel against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Handball: cup gala and away win in Leipzig for Füchse Berlin

On Thursday evening (6 November 2025), Füchse Berlin welcomed ThSV Eisenach for the DHB Cup last sixteen – and put in a dominant performance in the Max-Schmeling-Halle. The match was decided early on, with a 6:0 run to kick things off and a total of 19 saves by keeper Dejan Milosavljev. The Berlin team confidently won 38:22 to reach the quarter-final, which will be a home game against reigning Cup champions THW Kiel on 17/18 December.

As well as the old hands, various young bucks also had an opportunity to gain experience: Gabriel Kofler celebrated his professional debut and featured on the goal-scoring list, as did Lauro Pichiri, Tim Schröder and Max Günther. The top scorers were Tobias Grøndahl and Mathias Gidsel with six goals each.

Just three days later (9 November 2025), things continued for Füchse in the DAIKIN Handball-Bundesliga – with an away game against SC DHfK Leipzig. Nicolej Krickau’s team put in another focused performance to secure a 33:29 victory. Gidsel and Grøndahl impressed once again and Milosavljev remained a solid backbone.

This means that Füchse are still on track in both the Cup and the league.

Things continue for Füchse Berlin on Wednesday (13 October) with a Champions League away game against Sporting Clube Portugal in Lisbon. Just two days later on Friday evening (15 November), they have a top Bundesliga match against THW Kiel in the Max-Schmeling-Halle. The top Bundesliga game against Kiel on Friday also provides a foretaste of the Cup quarter-final in mid-December – with Füchse playing host to the record champions in the Max-Schmeling-Halle both times.

Royals make DBBL statement despite EuroCup defeat

Two matches, two different faces – and ultimately an indication of the team’s potential to reach the top of the league: the Saarlouis Royals had an intense week with international flair and national statement.

First off, the Royals were defeated 55:79 by top Serbian team Crvena Zvezda Belgrad in the Stadtgartenhalle on Wednesday evening (5 November 2025). Despite the defeat, Matiss Rozlapa’s team put in a committed performance for long periods and were able to keep pace at times. They then quickly turned their attentions to the final match in the first half of the DBBL season before the international break.

And on Saturday evening (8 November), they responded: in a hard-fought away game against BC Pharmaserv Marburg, the Royals clinched a 61:57 win to defend their unbeaten league record. This marked their seventh win in seven matches – a historic start to the season that secures them the table lead as they head into the break.

Whilst the majority of the squad are now off playing for their respective national teams, Michael Bellmann and Rahbari Parsa’s coaching team will be preparing for their upcoming tasks. Things continue on 23 November with an away game against USC Freiburg.

KSV Köllerbach battle their way to fifth place with home win

Saturday evening (8 November 2025) saw the Kyllberghalle in Köllerbach come to life: KSV Köllerbach made in impressive comeback in the final throes of the Bundesliga with a passionate 17:12 defeat of SVG 04 Weingarten. The Saarland team showed fighting spirit, team unity and technical class – allowing them to climb from seventh place in the table up to fifth.

After an early setback in their opening fight, head coach Thomas Geid’s team countered with a series of strong individual performances. Oleksandr Khotsianivskyi, Valentin Seimetz and Hayk Khloyan turned things around then Hayk Melikyan and Vasyl Mykhailov extended the lead. Although Weingarten battled back somewhat in the final stages, Andrey Shyyka rounded things off with a victory in the final duel.

A team that can make such a fantastic comeback after such significant setbacks can do anything

team captain Edib Cakmak said after the fight.

Things continue for KSV Köllerbach on Saturday (15 November) with an away game against ASV Mainz 88 – a real acid test against their long-time rivals.

Successful start to World Boccia Cup for Anita Raguwaran and Boris Nicolai

Anita Raguwaran and Boris Nicolai have been in Portugal since Saturday: the two national players are competing on an international stage for the season finale, the World Boccia Cup in Coimbra (8-16 November 2025). After two days of intense training at the weekend, things began on Monday with the individual competitions – and pleasing results for the HYLO® pair.

Boris Nicolai kicked things off in strong form and was able to win both of his two group matches in the BC4 class, putting him well on course for the quarter-finals. Anita Raguwaran also managed an engaged performance in the women’s BC4 class and celebrated a win in the group stages. Both athletes appeared focused – a successful start to this tournament with an elite lineup.

Individual matches continue until Thursday, before the pairs competitions on Friday and Saturday. Boris and Anita will be competing together as a mixed team. The World Boccia Cup in Coimbra represents the final international competition in a strong season for both Saarland players – and a key yardstick for the German boccia elite.

We are looking forward to upcoming events and appearances from our #hyloathletes and wish all of our HYLO® partners much luck and success.
