What’s new from the HYLO® Sport family
Our #hyloathletes have been actively competing on a variety of stages once again this week. We take a look back at the last seven days’ events and competitions featuring our athletes, teams and clubs.
Team75 Motorsport – intense Norisring weekend with strong results for rankings
From 3 to 5 July, Team75 Motorsport were competing in the sixth racing weekend of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany at the Norisring. This city circuit in Nuremberg offered tight duels, short reaction times and two very different race days for the Landstuhl team.
The team got off to a difficult start on the Saturday. Despite starting strong, Sam Jongejan was knocked out of the race at the first corner through no fault of his own. Gian Luca Tüccaroglu also only managed to cover a few metres after the race restarted and was forced to withdraw whilst battling it out in the midfield. Michael Essmann was the sole remaining driver to keep Team75‘s hopes alive: he won the pro‑am rankings, marking his second victory of the season and putting him back at the top of the amateur table.
Sunday was significantly more successful. Sam Jongejan responded well to the previous day’s accident and achieved his best result of the season so far, finishing in fourth overall. This saw him win the rookie rankings and top the table once again. Michael Essmann confirmed his form with another win in the pro‑am rankings, further extending his table lead. Gian Luca Tüccaroglu started far back on the grid but battled his way forward in impressive fashion to cross the finish line in 16th place, narrowly missing out on points.
Team75‘s Norisring weekend therefore marked a mixture of setbacks and clear successes – with two pro‑am wins, a rookie triumph and vital points for the overall rankings.
Things continue for Team75 Motorsport at the Nürburgring in mid-August.
SVE secure confident 5:0 win to kick off test series
Saturday (4 July 2026) saw SV Elversberg begin their preparations for their first Bundesliga season with a clear success. SVE won their first test match of the summer in Gießen 5:0, putting in a solid, focused performance for long periods.
The team found their rhythm early on, consistently put the Regionalliga team under pressure and created countless opportunities. The goals were spread across both halves: in the first half, Luca Schnellbacher scored to put things at 1:0, captain Lukas Pinckert added a long-distance shot for 2:0 and Filimon Gerezgiher secured 3:0 shortly before half-time. After the change of ends, David Mokwa scored a double to make the final scoreline 5:0.
Manager Vincent Wagner was matter-of-fact about the result: ‘It was a decent warm-up: we conceded nothing, scored a few lovely goals and also had a few goalpost rebounds – it was OK overall, no more and no less.’

The next test match is on Saturday 11 July at 12:30 p.m. in Rust, against Swiss champions FC Thun.
Saarlouis Hornets – two away wins in Bad Homburg double-header
On Sunday (5 July 2026), the Saarlouis Hornets faced the Bad Homburg Hornets for a double-header at Taunus Baseballpark – and emerged victorious in both matches. The matches were tight, intense and hard-fought for long stretches, but Saarlouis ultimately prevailed 11:8 in the first game and 12:10 in the second.
This means they have comprehensively won the teams’ third duel of the season, putting their series against Bad Homburg at six wins in six matches. The team put in another solid performance in attacking terms, whilst a few errors crept in that will need to be addressed in the coming weeks. Yannik Petry impressed on the mound for seven innings and laid the foundations for the win, whilst other pitchers also put in solid performances.
These two away wins mean that Saarlouis remain at the top of the 2. Bundesliga Südwest table and are heading into their upcoming fixtures with the wind in their sails.
Things continue on 18 July with a home game against Schriesheim, followed by crucial matches against Mainz.
Saarland Hurricanes – defeat at interconference game in Braunschweig
On Sunday (5 July 2026), the Saarland Hurricanes headed to Eintracht‑Stadion for a GFL interconference game against the Braunschweig Lions. The final score was 50:17 to the home team.
The Hurricanes initially got off to a positive start. The defence stopped the Lions’ first attack early on and the attacking ranks also established a strong foothold. A focused drive got the Saarland team to the red zone, then Antonio Buhrfiend established a 3:0 lead with a field goal. However, Braunschweig responded in the first quarter and pulled ahead with a touchdown.
The Hurricanes came under increasing pressure in the second half. Loss of possession and rapid Lions drives enabled Braunschweig to quickly extend their lead. After various turnovers, the score stood at 27:3, before Joshua Youngblood was able to close the gap with a touchdown. Nevertheless, the Lions’ kickoff return to 34:10 ensured that the match took a clear turn early on. The home team increased this to 41:10 just before half time.
Things continued in a similar vein after the change of ends: Braunschweig initially added a field goal, then Joshua Youngblood scored his second touchdown of the day to put things at 44:17. The Lions responded once again and scored two field goals in the final quarter, sealing the deal on the final scoreline of 50:17.
This was a difficult afternoon for the Hurricanes, where good beginnings were not enough to seriously pose a threat to the GFL-Nord table leaders.
Things continue for the Saarland Hurricanes on Saturday (18 July 2026) at Ellenfeldstadion in Neunkirchen, against the Munich Cowboys.
Michael Ledermann – crown secured at comeback on major Bern stage
The Bernisch Kantonales Schwingfest in Bern on 5 July saw Michael Ledermann make a successful comeback on the major stage. In front of more than 27,000 spectators and in ideal conditions, the HYLO® athlete managed a consistent competition and secured a crown with 56.25 points.
Ledermann began the day with a draw against Hugo Schläfli, followed by a second-round defeat of Lukas Siegrist. Although he was beaten by David Scheuner in the third round, he quickly got back on track to win his fourth duel against Jonas Wüthrich. He drew against Christian Gerber in the fifth round, before definitively securing a crown in the final round with a win against Valentin Steffen.
With a rank of 8c and three wins, two draws and a loss, Ledermann demonstrated that he is back in fully competitive form after his time away. He was suitably positive about his performance: ‘I am happy to have won a crown, although there is still room for improvement in future competitions.’

HYLO® PDC Europe NEXT GEN: Schmidt and Van de Weerd shape weekend
At the weekend (4-5 July 2026), HYLO® PDC Europe NEXT GEN was back in Ried am Innkreis, Austria. Events 9 and 10 had two different winners but the same final face-off: Jan Schmidt versus Jaimy Van de Weerd was the final lineup on both days.
Saturday was played in FA Cup mode. Jan Schmidt took advantage of a few top players not competing and made his way through the field with consistent performances. He only dropped a handful of legs in the knockout round, reaching his first Next‑Gen final. He then turned the match around after falling behind and secured his first Tour title with a score of 6:5.
Sunday (5 July 2026) was played in ‘master out’ mode. Schmidt and Van de Weerd once again pushed their way through to the final, but this time the Dutch player emerged victorious. Van de Weerd achieved very high averages across multiple matches, broke early in the final, and kept Schmidt at arm’s length even after breaking back. This 6:4 win broke his final slump and saw him celebrate his first Next‑Gen title. The result put him up to the top of the Order of Merit.
The HYLO® PDC Europe NEXT GEN continues on the weekend of 25-26 July 2026 in Hildesheim – again starting in FA Cup mode, followed by the second ‘double in double out’ tournament of the season.
Tight SuperMoto weekend in Cheb: two exciting S1 races
At the weekend (4-5 July 2026), the International ADAC SuperMoto Championship stopped off in Kartarena Cheb. The third weekend of the season brought two intense races in the S1 class, which remained competitive right through to the end.
The Superpole on the Saturday offered some tight gaps. Guest starter Milan Sitnianski with the starting number 121 secured pole position with a narrow lead over Colin Beischroth and third-placed Thomas Hiebl. Milan Sitnianski remained consistent and won race 1 ahead of Colin Beischroth and Thomas Hiebl. The trio set the pace for long periods and ensured that things got off to an exciting start.
Sunday (5 July 2026) offered a similarly exciting race. Paul Müller spent a long time ahead of guest starter Milan Sitnianski and Colin Beischroth, but the final stages shook things up once again – Beischroth passed Milan Sitnianski in the final lap to secure the crucial spot. A ten-second penalty awarded to Müller for starting early meant that the win ultimately went to Colin Beischroth, followed by Sitnianski and Erik Provaznik.
The S1 class once again provided a close, intense weekend that tightened the championship pack even further and ramped up the excitement for the rest of the season.
The next race in the International ADAC SuperMoto Championship takes place on the weekend of 15-16 August 2026 in Schaafheim.
Max Dehning wins silver at U23 championships
On Sunday (5 July 2026), Max Dehning competed in the German U23 Championships at Lohrheidestadion in Bochum‑Wattenscheid and clinched the silver medal for the javelin. The 21‑year‑old put in a solid performance with a final throw that upped his distance to 77.80 metres, getting very close to the ultimate winner Nick Thumm. Thumm won with 78.47 metres and the bronze went to Simon Schmitt with 73.22 metres.
For Dehning, this marked another strong performance in a season where he has been steadily working his way back after time out with an injury. His upturn has been marked by strong throws in the 70‑metre range and his performance in Bochum confirmed his position as one of Germany’s most reliable U23 throwers. His final attempt demonstrated once again that he can step up at crucial moments.
In three weeks’ time, Max Dehning will be competing in the German championships, where he will be back among the national elite with an opportunity to consolidate his solid form. The European Championships in Birmingham will still be the highlight of the season.

Sibiu Tour: BIKE AID solid in overall field
The Sibiu Tour (4-7 July 2026) has gone solidly for BIKE AID so far. On Monday (6 July 2026), this Romanian tour in the UCI 2.1 category featured a challenging main stage to Bâlea Lake, where the riders faced a demanding 2,600 metres of height climb and a long final ascent.
Oliver Mattheis put in a strong performance and came 17th in the third stage. Victor Vidal also remained at the front end of the middle pack, reaching the finish line 4:38 minutes back. Victor is 17th in the overall rankings, making him BIKE AID’s top-placed rider. Kristiāns Belohvoščiks and Joonas Puuraid followed behind the large group, whilst Anton Lennemann and Max Grabosch also made it to the finish line safely.
The tour continues, and BIKE AID still have opportunities in the remaining stages to stand out in breakaway groups or the overall rankings.
