ALL FÜCHSE PLAYERS REACH THE MAIN ROUND OF THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Eight Füchse Berlin players are currently fighting for the title at the 28th Handball World Championship in Poland and Sweden – with success! Their teams – Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Serbia and Montenegro – have all reached the main round. And the Füchse have also won the “Player of the Match” award, which is presented by the IHF at every match, six times.

After Dejan Milosavljev had to miss the first two preliminary round matches due to injury, he at least secured the Serbian goal for a half in the final match against Qatar (34:24) and was named Player of the Match for his great effort.

Danish internationals Hans Lindberg, Jacob Holm and Mathias Gidsel advanced to the main round in commanding style with a 34-21 win over Bahrain – the latter also taking Player of the Match honours in all three preliminary round matches and leading the tournament’s scorers so far with a total of 26 goals.

Paul Drux celebrated his World Cup goal debut this year in the match against Algeria (37:21) and directly contributed two goals and three assists to the victory.

The German national team, which enters main round 3 with four points, continues on Thursday with a match against Argentina.

Montenegro is in the main round 1 with 2 points and will meet France tonight. Milos Vujovic has been the best player in the preliminary rounds 2 times so far.

Max Darj is also on the pitch today with host Sweden in main round 2.

The HYLO® Sports Team wishes all the Füchse, their teams and the German national team continued success at the World Championships – we’re keeping our fingers crossed for you!
