DARTS PRO GABRIEL CLEMENS GETS STARTED AT THE PDC PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Following his brilliant performance at the recent World Darts Championship, next weekend (11-12/02) sees darts pro Gabriel Clemens – the German Giant – kick off the new darts season with the first tournament for world ranking points. The PDC Players Championships no. 1 & no. 2 are being held in the Metrodome in Barnsley (England). 

The Players Championships are part of the PDC Pro Tour. The results of this series of 30 individual tournaments feed into the official world rankings list (PDC Order of Merit), as well as a separate rankings list called the Players Championship Order of Merit. The 30 ‘floor events’ are tournaments that each last for one day and are generally held without spectators. Two tournaments take place over the course of a weekend. 

The starting positions for the final tournament are based on this rankings list. The Players Championship Finals serve as the dress rehearsal for the World Darts Championship at the end of the year. 

Last time Gabriel Clemens entered this tournament series, he reached the end-of-day final of a floor event five times. We would like to wish our darts giant a successful start to the tournament series and many long-running, extensive tournament days.
