INEXIO ROYALS SAARLOUIS GO INTO THE PLAYOFFS WITH A SELF-CONFIDENCE BOOST

With a win on the last match day in the main round of the DBBL, inexio Royals Saarlouis successfully played their way into the final round of the German women’s basketball championship.

A 62:47 win over GISA Lions MBC last Sunday 12 March 2023 at the Stadtgartenhalle in Saarlouis secured the team seventh place in the final table, a successful debut for new head coach Ricky Easterling.

The previous assistant coach and well-known US basketball player, who is still active in Saarland, was recently elevated by the club at short notice in order to breathe new life into the Royals’ play before the last home game and the playoff games that follow.

The team put on a great, successful team performance, and with this win was able to bank a good amount of self-confidence for the now upcoming playoff games against Rutronik Stars Keltern. They were placed second in the final table, and will face the Saarlanders in the quarter-final.

The playoffs as far as the semi-final use a best-of-three knockout format. The Royals will be visiting Keltern on 26 March. Then, on 31 March at 7 p.m., they will have a home opportunity to reach the semi-finals. After that, the Saarlanders may have to head out again for a potential third match on 2 April.

With a new trainer and a self-confidence boost, the team is now in the running for the German championship.

We wish the Saarlouis Royals much luck and success on their journey, and hope they can go the distance!
