This weekend (26 to 28 May), KÜS Team Bernhard is beginning the 2023 DTM season at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. After eight years, this track in Oschersleben is back on the DTM calendar. This super sports car league sees a total of 14 teams with drivers from 11 countries and vehicles from the six premium manufacturers Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche all competing in exciting battles for podium positions and championship points.

After the fantastic 2022 season with two wins and two further podium finishes, the team from Landstuhl under team manager Timo Bernhard is planning to put a good fight once again in the new season’s fight for top positions. Two ambitious drivers will be hunting down top finishes for KÜS Team Bernhard in the two brand-new Porsche 911 GT3 Rs. Porsche specialist Ayhancan Güven will be cruising up to the line in the 911 with the starting number 24. Following a guest start at last year’s DTM on the Norisring, this Porsche-contracted driver is raring for a new challenge on the Palatinate team. The sister vehicle with the number 75 will feature young talent Laurin Heinrich in his DTM debut. He is also hugely looking forward to his first DTM weekend. This top 21-year-old driver has particularly good memories associated with Oschersleben – this is where he drove in his first ever car race, and also celebrated his first win in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany two years ago.

After intensive preparations and the official test days at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, as well as recent fine-tuning tests in Oschersleben, the drivers, mechanics and whole team under Le Mans winner Bernhard are now fully motivated and focused on the launch of the race series.

The team manager himself is fundamentally optimistic and is heading to Oschersleben with a positive mood and a ‘certain tingle’. With his many years of experience in motorsport, he knows that before the season has actually begun, you never really know where things stand. However, the experienced racing professional understands that this tingle is a positive incentive to finally get going and tackle the challenge that is the DTM 2023.

We and the whole team are delighted that things are about to kick off, and wish them a successful start to the 2023 DTM season.
