Lukas Dauser is new world champion – congratulations on a gold medal for the parallel bars

Lukas Dauser is the new world champion for the parallel bars: on Sunday (8 October 2023), the 30-year-old won a gold medal with 15.400 points in his specialist discipline of the parallel bars at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Antwerp.

This athlete from Unterhachingen is the first German gymnast since Fabian Hambüchen (in 2007) to bring home a gold for Germany at a world championships. After two silvers at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2021 and the World Championships last year, this top German athlete has achieved the highlight of his career so far with this title.

This is made even more meaningful by the fact that before this, his season had been plagued by injury and recovery time. A muscle tear in his shoulder has long prevented the DTB team gymnast from training properly, and he was forced to miss both the European Championships in Antalya, Turkey in April and the German Championships in Düsseldorf in July.

We would like to congratulate Lucas Dauser on this fantastic win and wish him continuing luck and success on his path to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
