SEASON START FOR THE NEWLY FORMED BIKE AID TEAM (WITH MIXED FEELINGS)

Team BIKE AID newcomer Adrian Zuger caused a surprise for the professional team from Saarland right at the first race of the 2023 season. On 4 February he sprinted to second place in the one-day race “Grand Prix Apollo Temple” in Turkey.

At the finish line Adrian was only outsprinted by the Russian Sergey Rostovtsev, but thus also won the junior classification. BIKE AID with Enzo Decker and Leo Bouvier was also in the top ten and thus the most successful team of the day.

This success in the first professional race by the young rider, who comes from the BIKE AID Development Team, confirms the concept of the junior team and gives the entire team self-confidence for the tasks ahead. The sporting success of the team and the joy at the successful start to the season were unfortunately overshadowed by the tragic earthquakes in the Turkish-Syrian border region. The Tour of Antalya, scheduled from 9 to 12 February, in which the team wanted to participate, was cancelled. In this dramatic situation, sport takes a back seat. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families.

For Team BIKE AID, the tour continues from 19 February with the Tour du Rwanda on the African continent.
