SVE WANTS TO CONTINUE ITS WINNING STREAK AT THE WEEKEND

After three victories, SV Elversberg will go into their home match against Greuther Fürth with a lot of self-confidence.

“The boys have performed very confidently in the last few games,” says coach Horst Steffen, who expects the same confidence in the upcoming match. To start the month of October, SVE will face SpVgg Greuther Fürth in their next home match on Sunday, 1 October, where play will begin at the URSAPHARM Arena at 1.30 pm.

“We have already experienced a lot in the course of the round so far. Even if we were losing sometimes, we stayed close together. We have discovered that we can celebrate victories if we stay together continuously”, says Horst Steffen, adding: “It was fun to win – especially against HSV here in front of a capacity crowd, it was something special for us and our club. And for me, it’s always important that we can also give back to the people in the stadium who cheer us on.” That is a brutal task, especially against the “physically strong” opponent from Fürth, as the coach said.

Similar to our team, Greuther Fürth has already had to deal with one or two turbulent games this season. Last weekend, Fürth celebrated its 120th birthday with a 4:3 home win against Karlsruher SC, despite being undermanned. “That certainly helped their team’s morale,” says Horst Steffen, who still wants to give this difficult opponent a great fight with his team. The squad composition will only be decided at short notice, but Marcel Correia, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament in training, and Wahid Faghir (thigh) will certainly be omitted.
