Tarek Hamadeh-Spaniol: new look for Rallye Sulingen

The 35th ADAC Actronics Rallye Sulingen, one of the most exciting events on the Deutsche Rallye-Meisterschaft (DRM) calendar, begins this Friday (3 May 2024). 150 stage kilometres and the notorious IVG site await competitors. Over the course of two days, spectators will be able to watch not only Germany’s top rally drivers but also strong teams from Denmark, Sweden and Netherlands competing in eleven challenging and spectacular stages. Tarek Hamadeh-Spaniol, defending champion in the DRM Nationals, will be among the lineup.

The Saarland driver has had a colourful history in Sulingen. After a third and a second place, last year he won his class at the Sulingen rally for the first time. However, he has also previously had to withdraw due to technical defects. Despite these challenges, his goal for this year is clear: he wants to win again and earn vital points for the DRM Nationals rankings. With his co-driver Henry Wichura, Spaniol will be striving for victory in the NC 4 class in his Citroën C2 Challenge.

This special event will also see Tarek presenting the car’s newly designed exterior for the first time. The new red, black and white look suits him perfectly and has been popular with everyone who has managed to sneak a peek.

One particular highlight of Rallye Sulingen is the ‘IVG site’. This site is known for its challenging road conditions that demand maximum performance from drivers and vehicles alike. Built as a powder factory around 12km2 in size and then used as a military depot after 1945, this is now known for its seemingly endless and above all confusing road network and the countless ‘lost places’, as Tarek calls the sometimes bizarre-feeling sections. It is this challenge that makes the IVG site so special and attracts drivers year after year.

We are delighted to be joining Tarek Hamadeh-Spaniol at two exciting, eventful rally days and wish the Saarland rally driver much luck and success in his new-look but tried-and-tested car.
