THE HYLO® SPORTS TEAM WISHES EVERYONE A COLOURFUL EASTER
Time flies: just a moment ago we were throwing the Christmas tree out of the window and toasting to 2023 with popping corks, and now the first three months of the year are already behind us – and the Easter Bunny is back in the starting blocks with his running shoes firmly laced up!
And what an exciting first three months they have been! Starting with the historic success of the ‘German Giant’ aka Gabriel Clemens, who became the first German to reach the semi-finals of a World Darts Championship at London’s Ally Pally. This was followed by the advance of the proWIN Volleys of TV Holz, who achieved direct promotion back to the 2nd Bundesliga. And then there is SV Elversberg, who have consistently maintained their position at the top of the 3rd division over the last three months.
Füchse Berlin are steadfastly holding on to the top spot in the German Handball League and are the first team in the history of the EHF European League to win all ten group matches. Two more victories have now already taken the team into the quarter-finals.
Adrian Zuger, a newcomer to team BIKE AID, provided a welcome surprise at the very first cycling race of the 2023 season at the beginning of February: He sprinted to second place in the one-day race ‘Grand Prix Apollo Temple’ in Turkey without a second thought. Team BIKE AID has taken another positive step in the development of the newly formed team with a great team performance at the Tour du Rwanda and a podium finish by Pirmin Eisenbarth on the last stage of the Volta ao Alentejo in Portugal. It was the first top 3 finish in a UCI race for Pirmin.
The 1. FC Saarbrücken table tennis team had an equally successful start to the year: The team fought its way to the final of the Champions League and finally brought the title home to Saarland for the first time in the club’s history in two matches against Borussia Düsseldorf.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the teams and athletes on their successes so far in the first quarter. We are looking forward to the coming months and keeping our fingers crossed for the upcoming competitions, tournaments and results!
