There’s a lot going on with BIKE AID

The past few days have shown once again that there is a lot going on at BIKE AID, the unique cycling community from Saarland. The association was able to enjoy impressive results on several occasions during the Easter holidays.

Kim Ames, from the newly founded BIKE AID MTB Women’s Team, took her first international victory in Spain on Easter Sunday. This mountain biker from Hirzweiler won the final stage of the Volcat Igualada.

She finished the stage race of the second top category in the UCI international calendar ahead of the overall leader and runner-up in the European Championships, and also ahead of the world number one. This is a great success for the most successful female mountain biker in the Saarland and confirms the club’s commitment to promoting the region’s young talents in the currently booming sport of MTB, in addition to the pro road team. Strengthened by the positive result, Kim’s next big goals are already planned. The MTB Marathon World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, are to be the highlight of the season for this young woman from Saarland.

There were also moving moments for the professional team over Easter.

Vinzent Dorn took his first victory on the road for Team BIKE AID on Easter Monday. At the 47th edition of the ‘Rund um Schönaich’ race in Baden-Württemberg, this former MTB specialist proved that he is capable of transferring his performance from gravel to the road. Following Pirmin Eisenbarth, Vinzent is another top MTB rider who has successfully taken the leap onto the road in the Saarland’s newly formed professional team.

Things also continue to progress for Team BIKE AID.

No fewer than three tough one-day races (UCI 1.1) against world-class riders and top French teams from the Tour de France are on the agenda for Team BIKE AID this weekend. On 14/04/2023 it kicks off with ‘Classic Grand Besançon Doubs’, directly followed by the ‘Tour du Jura’ and the ‘Tour du Doubs’.
In addition to the three big race days in France, part of the team, as well as the BIKE AID Development Team, will be competing at the home race of the RSC Überherrn in Saarland on April 16!

Last year, former BIKE AID rider Adne van Engelen won in an exciting final. Will a BIKE AID rider be able to defend the title for the team again this year and bring it back to Saarland?

Things are still exciting with BIKE AID.
