Sporting successes
To me, every day is a new challenge, because I always want to be a tiny bit better than the day before. For good reason: it is important that this iron will and hard work in training be put successfully to use on the day of the competition. Thank you, and especially HYLO® and all my sponsors, for your support and trust in helping me achieve my goals.

Svenja Thoes FAQs
As a teenager, Svenja Thoes got a dog who she took out for long walks. To begin with the dog ran the larger laps, but eventually the dog had to wait for Svenja.
Svenja Thoes is 1.67 cm tall and weight 52 kg (as of March 23).
Svenja Thoes loves the challenge. Triathlon is an extreme sport that is hugely physically and mentally demanding. Triathlon takes you to your limits – and if things go well, even a bit beyond. She is still always astonished at what her body can do.
Although Svenja Thoes feels back to normal after two or three days, she does not up her training level again for around two weeks. The ‘recovery week’ is a form of gentle physiotherapy to enable her to start training again.
Svenja Thoes grew up in Friedrichsthal in Saarland. She has since travelled all over the world, but Saarland is still her home.
As well as sport, Svenja Thoes’s closest friends and family are the most important thing to her. If she has the time, she likes to cook or take trips.
During a competition, she primarily consumes isotonic drinks, water and carbohydrate gels from Ultrasports – around every 20 minutes.
Immediately before a competition, around two days before a race, Svenja tries to eat as little fibre as possible. However, she still eats carbohydrates during this period, such as white rice with oil and nuts, potatoes, sushi, bananas and even ice cream. Otherwise, Svenja eats a balanced diet. Vegetables feature heavily in her meals.
