SVE back on track after home win against Paderborn

After their win against Schalke, SV Elversberg emerged victorious 4:1 from a home game against SC Paderborn and now boast 24 points.

We take our hats off to them. With a very strong home performance, SV Elversberg gained a well-deserved 4:1 win over SC Paderborn. After the game, Horst Steffen still saw potential for improvement in certain areas, but ultimately had nothing but praise for his team: ‘We saw a game with lots of attempts to break through. But our play also had lots of technical errors.’ One example was conceding a goal, although SVE did not let this put them off their stride. But ultimately, Steffen had to admit: ‘There are always things we can improve. Areas where we can be better or more precise. But this was a top game we saw today.’

His team’s determination in particular was very high: ‘We have rarely played so consistently and forcefully as we did in the first fifteen minutes of the second half. Ultimately, I am very happy with the team’s performance and appearance’. And he should be. Having temporarily been at risk of relegation, after this day of play SV Elversberg now sit in sixth place. And more importantly, they have 24 points on their ledger. They are just 16 points away from the magic 40, and given SVE’s current form and performance, this should only be a matter of time.

On Sunday they face Hertha BSC. Bundesliga clubs like HSV or Schalke have already discovered that SVE is not afraid to face big names.
