Volkspark is calling – SVE confident against Hamburger SV

SV Elversberg are facing Hamburger SV for their next day of play. Their opponents have recently had a change of coach.

It was the absolute highlight of the first half of the season: SV Elversberg beat Hamburger SV 2:1 on home turf at the URSAPHARM arena – a well-deserved victory. It was the first real stir that Horst Steffen’s team created in the second division. Things are looking different now, particularly because the Hanseatic city team has a new coach on the bench – who will be making their first appearance this weekend.

Steffen Baumgart will be seeking to get the foundering Hamburg players back on track, and ideally achieve promotion. He made his ambitions clear at the introductory press conference: he would like to help his ‘favourite club’ of HSV be promoted. Whether or not they can manage the first step towards achieving this at their home game is also up to SV Elversberg, who are travelling to Hamburg with plenty of confidence. Following a dip over the new year, Horst Steffen’s team has stabilised and earned seven points over their last three games. This has also put the Saarland team in a very relaxed spot in the table. This top game in this great stadium is filling all involved with nothing but anticipation and excitement, thanks to the fact that the team has achieved this excellent starting position. Because one thing is clear: SVE have lots to win and absolutely nothing to lose in Hamburg – whilst things are very different for their opponents.
