Füchse Berlin

Füchse Berlin is the professional handball division of the Berlin club ‘Füchse Berlin Reinickendorf e.V. BTSV von 1891’. The club played under this name in the northern section of the 2. Bundesliga from the 2005/06 season onwards. During the 2006/07 season the Füchse secured the championship early, and since then have been playing in the Handball-Bundesliga – the strongest league in the world.

‘We are here to stay’ was Füchse Berlin’s motto during the 2007/2008 season following their promotion to the Bundesliga. The Füchse have become an established part of the Bundesliga in recent years and are now absolutely considered one of the top teams.

Füchse Berlin play in the LIQUI MOLY Handball-Bundesliga and have done since 2007. Internationally they play in the EHF European League.

16-20 kids from a club team have the opportunity to run in with Füchse Berlin or the visiting team. Club teams are coached and have an opportunity to experience behind the scenes on a match day at the Max-Schmeling-Halle. The children watch the game itself with their coaches, sat directly behind the players’ benches. Parents, siblings, grandparents and friends can also attend at particularly favourable group rates. Füchse Town is the sporting home of Füchse Berlin. The Sportforum Berlin premises, with its competitive sport centre, Olympic training centre and elite sports school, is home to the ‘Füchse Town’ training centre. As well as a multipurpose training hall, ‘Füchse Town’ offers the ideal conditions for handball-specific strength training in one of the most state-of-the-art weight rooms in Berlin-Brandenburg. A large physiotherapy room also treats both the professionals and the young members of the youth team. Füchse Town is a place where sport at all levels comes together, the sporting home of the Füchse, and the official home venue for the Jungfüchse.

Handball legend Stefan Kretzschmar has been Füchse Berlin’s board member for sport since 2020.
